I started my journey as a clinician in 2018 after graduating from Northern Illinois University. I received my master's degree in Rehabilitation Counseling. Prior to that I earned my bachelor's degree in 2008 from Southern Illinois University - Carbondale. I received my degree in Communication Disorders and Sciences.
I work with adolescents, adults, and the BIPOC & LGBTQIA community. I’m a trained psychotherapist and I have 10 years of experience working in the mental health field. I use a culturally competent approach and tailor therapy to each individuals needs and goals.
I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy to help remove the negative thoughts, self-blame, people pleasing behaviors, and unhealthy thought patterns. I use Solution Focused Therapy to help you discover a new way to approach situations that trigger your emotions. I use Person-Centered therapy to aid you in finding the solutions on your own, promoting empowerment.
I will guide you through your trauma to overcome challenges with anxiety, depression, relationship issues, life transitions, Cultural/Identity Based Trauma, and race-related trauma.
