Lauren Robertson CDP, MA, MLS, LPC-A

Welcome!

I am a Certified Dementia Practitioner and a Licensed Professional Counselor Associate, supervised by Christia Rogers, MEd, LPC-S, NCC. I hold a Master of Legal Studies from the Santa Barbara and Ventura Colleges of Law and an MA in Forensic Psychology from The Chicago School of Professional Psychology. Prior to obtaining my graduate degrees, I received a BA of Psychology and a BS of Applied Gerontology from the University of North Texas. I am a member of the International Council of Certified Dementia Practitioners (ICCDP) with additional training on Montessori Dementia Care (CMDCP).

As a Dementia Practitioner, I have worked in a variety of behavioral health settings over the last 15 years. Directorial positions where I developed a diverse collection of skills to better help those who have trauma-related concerns, who are experiencing changes and hardships in life stages, or those who just have a genuine desire to better themselves.

My approach is rooted in empathy, evidence-based practices, and a deep understanding of the complexities of human emotions and relationships. I integrate various therapeutic modalities, including Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), mindfulness techniques, strengths-based, person-centered, and trauma-informed approaches, to support clients in achieving positive change and personal growth.

My goal is to empower individuals to overcome challenges, build resilience, and achieve a greater sense of well-being. I view clients as the experts of their lives, while I assist and guide them through interpersonal changes, challenges, and healing.
